So what does eco-friendly really mean ? We as concern consumers must ask ourselves what makes a product green and what factors we must take into consideration, before purchasing a so called eco-friendly product.How do you get through all the hype associated with going green,environmentally sustainable ,certified organic or any other terminology that manufactures are now using ,so that they can jump on the eco-friendly bandwagon to cash in on some green literally. First you have to become a highly-educated consumer.Know what each label stands for and the process the manufacture went trough, to be certified and endorsed by a well respected association or institution. By replacing a plastic bag with a reusable one you will be keeping unsightly plastic bags out of our landfills.Plastic bags takes years to breakdown and emit harmful chemicals into our air . Buying appliances that are energy efficient endorsed with the energy star logo also helps save our environment.These electronics reduce the amount of energy used and in the long run you the consumer save a lot of green/money.
